WESTconsin Credit Union Offices Hosting Annual Summer Food Drive
June 26, 2025WESTconsin Credit Union Offices Hosting Annual Summer Food Drive
WESTERN, WI— Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation and food pantries often face their greatest need for donations during the summer months. To help children and others during this time of year, WESTconsin Credit Union is hosting the School’s Out Summer Food Drive. From Monday, July 7, through Saturday, July 19, all WESTconsin offices will collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations.
WESTconsin Credit Union is calling on community members to support those facing food insecurity by giving to the Summer Food Drive. All donations will go toward filling the shelves of 14 different community partners across the credit union’s service area. Monetary donations are especially powerful, as local food pantries can stretch every dollar to purchase up to $10 worth of food, making an even greater impact. Last year’s generosity from members, employees and communities enabled WESTconsin to donate $2,780.20 and 396 non-perishable food items.
WESTconsin Credit Union has been serving members since 1939, and membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Wisconsin counties of Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn, or the Minnesota counties of Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Pine, Ramsey, Scott, Wabasha, and Washington, with a $5 minimum deposit in a Membership Savings Account. Credit unions are financial institutions owned by their accountholders, and member funds are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to at least $250,000.
